Service Terms
No Warranty
This service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Free Service
YouHaveNewMail is currently provided free with selected hosting plans and may be rolled out to more users in the near future. We may modify, limit, or withdraw free access at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the service for:
- Spam, unsolicited bulk communication, or abuse
- Excessive automated polling or attempts to bypass limits
- Illegal, harmful, deceptive, or infringing activities
- Interfering with system stability or security
Suspension
Excessive use, abuse, or suspected misuse may result in temporary restriction or permanent suspension.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the service.
Privacy
YouHaveNewMail is designed to be privacy-first. Alerts focus on mailbox activity, not message content.
We notify you of the number of new messages and the combined size of those messages across your monitored mailboxes/accounts. We do not read, process, or include the content of your emails in notifications.
Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your enquiry and to protect the service from abuse.
Data Handling
We only collect the minimum data required to operate the service, such as account identifiers, routing metadata, and delivery preferences. We avoid storing unnecessary personal data and periodically review stored records.
Retention
Operational logs and support submissions are retained only as long as reasonably needed for reliability, fraud prevention, and customer support, then deleted or anonymized where practical.
Your Control
You can request updates or deletion of contact-submitted personal data by contacting support. We process requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal and operational obligations.
Security
Connections are protected with TLS/SSL in transit. Access is restricted and we follow least-privilege principles when handling credentials and notification destinations.
Access Controls
Administrative access is restricted to authorized operators, protected by authentication controls, and reviewed periodically to remove unnecessary privileges.
Service Protection
We use layered protections including request validation, abuse controls, and provider-level safeguards to reduce spam, brute-force attempts, and malicious traffic.
Incident Response
If we detect a significant security issue, we prioritize containment, remediation, and transparent communication to affected users when appropriate.
